The first category of the RFID Reference Model and which already existing standards apply for it. Subcategories : In-house logistics - Closed loop logistics - Open logistics -Postal applications - Dangerous goods logistics - Manufacturing logistics

Production, Monitoring and Maintenance

The second category of the RFID Reference Model , naming the standards that apply for it. Subcategories: Archive Systems - Asset Management - Facility Management - Vehicles - Airplanes - Automation/Process Control - Food and Consumer Goods

Product Safety, Quality and Information

The third category of the RFID Reference Model and which already existing standards apply for it. Subcategories: Fast Moving Cosumer Goods - Electronic Goods - Textile Goods - Fresh/Perishable Foods - Pharmaceutical - Customer Information Systems

Different subcategories

There are still three subcategories from different application categories which have to be considered. The subcategories have been selected under the aspect of wide use and importance, respectively expected importance. These are the subcategories: - Access control systems - Personal tracking - Rental systems. The subcategories Access control systems and Personal tracking are belonging to the main category Access control and tracking & tracing of individuals. The subcategory Rental systems is belonging to main category Sports, leisure and household.
