Auto-ID Lab Network
Up one levelThe MIT AUTO-ID Laboratory is dedicated to creating the Internet of Things using RFID and Wireless Sensor Networks. The AUTO-ID Labs are the leading global network of academic research laboratories in the field of networked RFID. The Labs comprise seven of the world's most renowned research universities located on four different continents.
- MIT AUTO-ID Laboratory
- Auto-ID Lab (MIT, USA)
- Focusses especially on the further standardisation and adoption of RFID technology. Developed e.g. the Electronic Product Code (EPC) and the Physical Markup Language.
- Auto-ID Lab (Cambridge, UK)
- The lab focuses on the integration of RFID and other ID technologies into industrial environments. Specific research themes include: Reduction in the uncertainty of RFID deployment Methodologies for tracking and tracing objects Management of product information networks Quantification of the impact of RFID introduction RFID integration with sensing and automation systems
- Fudan University, Shanghai (China)
- The Auto-ID Lab at Fudan University, Shanghai, China concentrates on the application and development of RFID technology in China.
- Auto-ID Lab at University of St. Gallen (Switzerland)
- The Auto-ID Lab St.Gallen devotes its research to the business impacts (processes, products and services), applications and infrastructure of the "Internet of things". Together with EPCglobal and other Auto-ID Labs it develops the next generation of the EPC-Network.
- Auto-ID Lab at Keio University (Japan)
- The center focusses on the development of the network aspects of the project and ultimately to evolve an international standard for Auto-ID technology through research, experiment, and application development focusing on networking issues and additionally researches, develops and makes recommendations for related field of real-space networking technology("Internet of Things").
- Auto-ID Lab at Adelaide University (Australia)
- The Lab focuses on research and providing technical and educational services and is involved in activities such as hardware and software development, integration and applications, technical services and education.
- Auto-ID Lab at ICU (Korea)
