RFID Reference Model

RFID technology is used in various areas of our daily lives. When an application field is so broad, it is helpful to have a model which can help classify applications so that a clear understanding can be achieved. The RFID Reference Model is a first approach in this direction. The RFID Reference Model has been developed as an attempt to structure the different application fields in order to be able to evaluate requirements in terms of standards, technological components, and data protection for individual applications (Gampl et al. 2008b).
